This new, luxurious mountain resort offers stunning views of Lake Jordanelle and exceptional amenities like multiple pools, hot tubs, and fine dining, though guests should be aware of ongoing construction, strict valet-only parking, and occasional inconsistent service quality.
Dear Grand Hyatt Deer Valley Management Team, I am writing regarding our stay from February 24–28, during which my wife and I chose your property to celebrate our upcoming five-year wedding anniversary. As long-time Hyatt Globalists, we selected your hotel expecting a premium and thoughtful experience. Unfortunately, our stay was consistently disappointing and far below brand standards. There was no acknowledgment whatsoever of our anniversary beyond a standard welcome amenity. For a milestone celebration at a luxury property, this lack of recognition was disheartening. Some others did receive special treatment. Upon entering our room, we found clear cleanliness issues (visible toilet seat stains, unwashed coffee cups, dusty surfaces), which immediately undermined our confidence in the room’s sanitation. Subsequent service interactions — including a simple pillow request — were poorly coordinated and lacked follow-up. We were informed that the Globalist Lounge was unavailable for the first two days of our stay. During this time, staff provided inconsistent information about lounge breakfast hours. When we were finally able to access the lounge, the space and service quality were shockingly substandard — understaffed, unresponsive, and entirely inconsistent with what Globalists should expect at a Grand Hyatt property. As a wheelchair user, and with my wife injured during this trip, we specifically inquired about accessible shuttle options to minimize driving. Despite repeated assurances from front desk staff that they would follow up, we never received any information before checkout. The failure to follow through on accessibility-related requests is particularly concerning. Most troubling was our checkout experience. While attempting to raise these concerns, we were instead presented with two charges that were not ours and were asked to pay them. We were forced to produce receipts on the spot to prove the errors. This was both inappropriate and unacceptable. We paid premium rates expecting a refined, well-managed experience. Instead, we encountered repeated service failures, lack of accountability, and operational disorganization. This stay significantly detracted from what was meant to be an important anniversary celebration. I trust that management will review this matter seriously and provide a meaningful response, including clarification on how these issues will be addressed. We look forward to your prompt reply.
Amazing experience. Close to Jordanelle Reservoir and Deer Valley ski resort. Extremely clean and very modern. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Amenities are excellent....Spa, Fitness room, outdoor pool with 3 hot tubs, 2 shops, 1 sit down and 1 quick grab restaurants. Shuttle services to the ski resort and Park City. Outdoor fire pits with plenty of seating. The food is excellent! Make sure you book the Hot Cocoa experience...soooo yummy! The only ding against them is the parking situation is currently valet only and is kinda frustrating with all of the current construction, but I'm sure they'll fix that as time goes on.
This hotel is absolutely amazing. We had hesitations about booking based on some of the previous reviews however it far surpassed our expectations! Yes, there is heavy construction around the hotel as the area is being redeveloped but it really doesn’t impact much of the stay- particularly if you request a room facing the reservoir. The hotel has so many awesome amenities- the pools and hot tubs are particularly lovely. The service was always friendly and knowledgeable. The food in the restaurant was outstanding for dinner and breakfast. For kids- the play rooms were really fun and they are very welcoming. The ski services and locker rooms are also fantastic. Honestly, I didn’t have low expectations when I came and was anticipating a subpar experience however I was really impressed with this hotel and would absolutely stay again!
This is our second visit here and things have only improved since last year. The proximity to the new east village ski area was great and you can easily access the more “open” part of Deer Valley from there! The staff was incredibly accommodating when I had to ask to switch rooms mid trip because of an illness with one of my children. We were so grateful and appreciative. Service like that is what will keep us coming back.
Absolutely love coming here. We’ve been here 4 times and every time it’s better. If you don’t get the breakfast buffet at Remington hall in the morning, you’re totally missing out. Loved that the east village gondola is open. This makes skiing incredibly easy from the hotel. Also loved the free ski storage. Every morning our skis were out front waiting for us. Such a great place for a ski cation.
Disappointing Return: A Corporate Conference Hotel Masquerading as a Luxury Ski Lodge This was my second stay at the Grand Hyatt Deer Valley, having visited during their opening year. I really want to love this property, but unfortunately, it is currently not worth the $1,000+ nightly price tag. While the hotel markets itself as a premier ski-in/out destination, it feels distinctively like a corporate conference center that happens to be near a mountain. The Pros: Hidden Ace: This is the jewel of the property. The service, food, and drink selection here are fantastic. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly—management should really have this team train the staff at Remington Hall and the Lounge. Housekeeping: Turn-down service and general housekeeping were exceptional within the room. Valet & Front Desk: Valet was quick, and the front desk host was formal and helpful with advice. Amenities: The outdoor hot tubs are great after skiing, though the pool needs to be warmer for winter use. The Cons (and why I won't return soon): Globalist Benefits are Non-Existent: The "Globalist Lounge" was insulting—a windowless, soulless conference room with dirty dishes and leftover snacks (Costco-like snacks). When we tried to eat at the restaurant instead, the hostess was unaware of Globalist breakfast rules, forcing us to risk the bill rather than return to the conference room. We received no early check-in (waited until 4 PM with no place to change) and the app denied us late check-out. Maintenance & Quality Issues: For a new property, the wear and tear is shocking. In our suite (Room 2111), the fridge had a massive chip exposing bare wood, and the bathtub diverter was broken, making a bath impossible. Worse, the shower temperature fluctuated wildly between scalding and freezing. Outside the room, dirty dishes sat by the elevator bank for two days (someone left them there) until I moved the napkin to make them visible to staff. Service Inconsistencies: Breakfast service was overwhelmed (20 minutes to get a bill). In the Lounge off Remington Hall, servers didn't know the menu or cocktail ingredients. Online menus (website vs. Google) are inconsistent, which is poor attention to detail for a hotel of this caliber. Location & Terrain: The "East Village" is a ghost town construction zone. Despite advanced snowmaking claims, there were zero guns firing and only 1-2 runs open, requiring a tedious commute (tram + lift + gondola) to get to real skiing. It is not a true ski-in/out experience yet. Atmosphere: You are surrounded by construction noise 24/7. It lacks the warmth of a vacation resort. Verdict: This area is 3-4 years away from being a destination. Until the village develops and the hotel fixes its "cold corporate" culture and service lapses, I cannot recommend staying here.
I can confidently say this hotel ranks within the top 10 among all the Hyatt properties I’ve stayed at. Even though it was extremely busy due to the Christmas season, the front desk staff checked us in with genuine kindness and professionalism. The entire property and facilities were exceptionally clean, well-organized, and thoughtfully maintained. The breakfast experience for Globalists was also excellent and well worth it. Thanks to the wonderful service and environment, my family and I were able to enjoy a relaxing and memorable holiday together. Highly recommended, and we truly appreciate the great hospitality.
This hotel deserves all 5 stars !! Arriving to the hotel is beautiful. It sits high on the mountains and overlooks the Jordanelle reservoir. Around the area they are building so construction was at works during my stay. I would say that once finished, this area is going to be beyond amazing with a ski in and ski out resort right in front of the hotel. Arriving at the hotel ,it seems there is no place to park , so prepare for Valet service. Valet during my stay was $50 a night . The attendants were very nice and friendly. I never had to wait long on my car and they made sure the winds were defrost before I even got in . (I went during the winter storm) . Walking inside the hotel, the aesthetics were do cozy and welcoming . The front desk staff were very friendly and also allowed me to check in early due to an early arrival. They educated me on the events that were going to take place during our stay. The hotel also has a shuttle that will bring you to main street and also to Park City Ski Resort. The drivers of the shuttle are also very friendly. My room card was beautifully made as it is a wood card that I would hold to my room in order to enter. When entering the room . The room is spacious and beautiful. The room comes with robes and slippers in which was very cozy. The bathroom is spacious. I had a walk in shower and a beautiful eucalyptus hanging from the shower head. The room comes with a small coffee bar, no microwave but if one is needed then they will bring it to you. My only dislike is that their cable is ran by satellite. During my stay because the snow was bad, it knocked the cable channels out and I was left with nothing to watch..Regarding the area, the city is like 15 mintues away so make sure you get all your good before you arrive . There were no stores nor gas station nearby, only when you get closer to Park City.
This new Grand Hyatt is so amazing. The lobby, retaurants, and rooms are all beautifully done. We had breakfast at the buffet and were very pleased. Our room was large and spacious. Bathroom was luxuriois. Staff were super helpful and very kind. It was nice to be away from Park City downtown a little bit and enjoy the views of the reservoir. There are a lot of activities to participate in as well, if that's your jam. We'll definitely be staying here again.
Came for a special girls weekend with my mom and daughter and had a wonderful time. Hotel is absolutely beautiful with lots of fun amenities. We loved high hot chocolate and the kids rooms as well as the pool and hot tubs. We will definitely be back.
